No. A notary cannot offer legal advice unless they are a licensed attorney.
Can a South Carolina notary certify vital records?
No. Certification of vital records must be done by officials in the country, state, or county offices that issue and keep those records. Vital records include divorce decrees, marriage licenses, birth certificates, death certificates, and documents of that nature.

What is the notary process?
When you are ready to have your documents notarized by Coastal Key Notary in South Carolina, it’s necessary to be prepared. Here’s what you will need.
1. Valid Identification: A current ID issued by a federal or state agency that includes a photographic image of the individuals face and signature such as a driver’s license, passport, or state ID. As part of our thorough notarization, as required in South Carolina, we verify all ID’s.
2. The Documents: Please ensure each document is complete and ready for notarization. DO NOT sign any documents ahead of time.
3. Additional Signing Parties: If your document requires more than one signature, all signers must be present and also have valid identification.
4. Payment: Payment is due upon completion of our notary services. We accept various payment methods.
